Error message: Can not find script file when trying to capture an image. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have MDT running fine but on one laptop when I attempt to capture the laptop image and I map a drive to DeploymentShare$ and run LiteTouch.vbs from teh Scripts folder I get a window with a title of

    Windows Script Host

    and the message

Can not find script file "Z:\Scripts\LiteTouch.wsf"

I can't find a log file with an error message in it. Are there some folders, files or registry entries that should or should not be on the laptop before I capture the image?

I can capture an image from another PC and I can also deploy images.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    I map a drive to DeploymentShare$ and run LiteTouch.vbs.

This then produces the error message. As I said above this is only happening on one laptop. This does not occur on other machines.

Usually UAC is the problem when you run it from within the OS. Personally my solution was to create a batch file and then I right click on the batch file and click on "Run as Administrator". That way the drive is mapped and the script it run as the root administrator with no interference from UAC

    @echo off
    echo.
    echo.
echo **** IT Deployment Services ****
    echo.
echo You MUST be logged on as the root Administrator account.
echo You must also use "Run as Administrator" on this script.
    echo.
    echo.
    echo Connecting to MDT SHARE
    NET USE M: \\SERVER\SHARE
    echo.
    Echo Running LiteTouch
    cscript M:\Scripts\LiteTouch.vbs

  • I take it you executing the LiteTouch script from within the running OS. How are you executing it? Are you double clicking on the script file?
