MDT 2012: Secure WSUS server, certificate and time zone RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have converted our WSUS server from http to https.  Hence we struggle to have everything correctly set up in MDT.  Many of the computers involved are not domain members so we first need to install the local certificate, BUT before that we probably have to set the correct timezone.

How do we correctly set the timezone so it is done BEFORE the certificate gets installed

How do we install the certificate BEFORE the WSUS services needs it?

Thanks a LOT for a quick reply on this issue.

    best regards

  • These questions are not about MDT, instead, you are asking about general Windows Setup questions.

Setting the correct timezone should be handled by your existing OS installation process, if not, you should fix your process. Typically, Cert's can be added via Group Policy, but I did a quick search on the internet and found several sites discussing the subject.

You might have more success asking in other Windows TechNet groups.
