  • Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2

After applying the latest Microsoft updates last week, I am now having to restart service Windows Modules Installer every day.  Is there anyone that can shed any light on this behavior.

  • Hi,

In general, Windows Modules Installer automatically runs when installing packets, such as Windows Update. And, automatically stops after completing the installation. It is not(no necessary to be) always running.

Confirm that the Startup Type is configured as automatic. Log on as local system account.

To what end? Normally this service is manual start.

If something specific to essentials you might try over here.
