  • Hi,
After the client restarts and wallpaper goes blank, please check if the GPO is still applied to client successfully, you could run gpresult /h command to view it. You could also check if the WALLPAPER registry entryis still correct under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
For DNS issue, generally, we point clients to DC IP address as DNS, you could check if DNS is set correctly on clients.
And on a problematic client, please check Ease of Access settings: Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the computer easier to see->Scroll down and uncheck "Remove background images (where available)".
    Best regards,
    Wendy

  • When you say "works for some user", do you mean it doesn't work for all users you intended to use the specific wallpaper? That could indicate that you need to reconfigure the gpo-link to point to all OU's you wish to obtain the wallpaper or add the right computers/users to the right OU which the GPO links to.

As for the blank wallpaper, I would assume the policy is processed as it should, otherwise no change to the wallpaper would be made (blank or not). For some reason isn't able to find the source of the intended picture second time it is processed? Have you checked the registry entry as Wendy Jiang mentioned?

The DNS of the clients should most likely point to one of the DC's in the domain, if no other dedicated DNS server is running(?). Could you give us some more information regarding the DNS issue you mention briefly?
