IIS 7.5 on Server 2008 r2, Default Page/Host Headers/500 Error

    Question

  • Hi, all. Could someone help with an error I'm having on IIS 7.5 on Windows 2008 r2? I have a site set up in IIS. The site returns pages correctly if I enter the page name, such as my.site.org/default.aspx. Without the page name, however, the site returns a 500 error. For example, if I enter http://my.site.org, IIS throws the 500 error.

I have default.aspx set as the first entry in the default pages. I've also tried editing the config file to add the entry manually. Neither of these work.

    Any ideas what I'm missing?

    Thanks!
