Finding Default Printer Settings of all Network Printers RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a network with quite a few printers. We have different default settings for different groups within the company. Does anyone know of a way to scan all printers for their default settings and give a report back. Such as duplex, stapling on or off, Bigger printer trays etc. We are just now moving over to print servers so we need to set the defaults to how they are now, but of course if possible we would like a report instead of checking each default on just over 1000 printers. Is there any software or scripts we could run to possibly do this? We currently have a command line that will install printers for the office location. Is there a way it can export/report all settings to printers added to a machine?

  • Dear Crazynick9601,

Actually if the users don't have administrative privilege and their using an network printer their configuration will be the same of the print server, ok?

Actually you can manage better your print service by exploring the Printer Server features.
