ISATAP address is not listed in DNS interfaces, cannot resolve DNS queries using DC's ISATAP address RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

I'm trying to configure Direct Access in my environment. I successfully configured ISATAP router (on my DirectAccess server) and servers started to get ISATAP IPs.

Right now I cannot resolve DNS queries using my DNS servers ISATAP IPs. I still can ping them though.

I tried to find these IPs in DNS Server properties Interface tab - they're missing.

I've found description of the same issue in Microsoft KB, but it's about Windows Server 2008 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958194/en-us).

In my case both DC and DA servers are 2008 R2.

I have IPv6 disabled (in adapter properties) at DC. If I enable it - I cannot ping it using it's IPv6 address.

I have 2 DCs and testing them from each other (trying to query/ping DC01 from 02 and backwards).

    Please assist.

    Thank you in advance!
