Changing DPM Domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • Due to an acquisition I will need to change the AD domain of our DPM 2010 server and the associated Windows 2012 SAN server. All the servers protected by DPM will also be changing domains at the same time. Is there any problems with changing the DPM domain name?  I understand I will have to create new protection groups for the servers, but will the internal DPM functions continue to work?  I'm hoping to save the existing backup data for a period of time after the domain change.

    Thanks,
    Joe

  • Hi,

You cannot change the domain of the DPM server.

  • You can't get any more unambiguous than that.  Thanks for the answer!
