Unable to edit a field value in Project Center & how to automate project check-in in Project Server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    I have two issues:
    1. I am unable to edit a field named "Notes" in one of the Project Server project. Is this field only editable in Project Professional or there is some other way? I can edit every other fields in the below image except "Notes".

    2. Is there a way to automate project check-in when users sign out? I found only one way to check-in the projects and that is through Server Settings -> Force Check-in Enterprise Objects.
But still I want to know if there is any other way to do it.

    Thanks.

  • Hi there,

    Answers below:

    1. Task notes are edited in Project Pro only

    2. No way out of the box to auto checking project files. This a manual step from the PM / PWA administrator. I would leave this as a manual step to ensure that PM's do not lose any unsaved changes.
