Recipe: Visual Studio Code 1.7.2 on App-V 5.1 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • App Name:  Visual Studio Code 1.7.2

    Sequencer Version:  5.1.85.0

    Command line used:  VSCodeSetup-1.7.2.exe /SILENT /DIR="C:\VSCode" /mergetasks=!runcode

    Sequenced on: Windows 7 64bit

    Tested on: Windows 7 (persistent), Windows Server 2008 (non-persistent)

    Notes:

    • All Advanced Options checked in Sequencer
    • No need to modify any exclusions in Sequencer
    • Pre-created C:\VSCode directory prior to sequencing (not sure if this was required or not)
    • Did not launch VSCode during or after sequencing (the /mergetasks=!runcode stops it from auto launch

  • Confirmed, and there is no need to create the folder C:\VSCode prior on starting your sequence.

    To disable auto updates, create the file:
    %appdata%\Code\User\settings.json
    And add the following content:

    {
        "update.channel": "none"
    }
    The update button under help will also be hidden.
