Is there a way to edit the appearance of the preview site? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In dashboard designer, I deleted from the server a few dashboards and other elements that I don't need anymore.  However the links to those pages and dashboards stayed there on the preview site.  Is there a way to remove the links that point to nothing?

  • The Preview Site dashboards are actually stored as folders containing a collection of .aspx files in a directory on the file system of the server running the PPS Monitoring Server.  The default location is:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server\3.0\Monitoring\PPSMonitoring_1\Preview

When you preview a particular dashboard page, you should see a URL that looks something like this:

    http://spontebi:40000/Preview/eb89a723e68c49ab87c3e3c63eb19f76/aeee6e7ddb554124b5af4091531b01a0.aspx

The red portion: eb89a723e68c49ab87c3e3c63eb19f76 will match an entire folder in the preview directory.  To delete an entire dashboard and all of the report views, remove this folder.

The green portion: aeee6e7ddb554124b5af4091531b01a0.aspx represents a page of the dashboard.  You can click on individual pages to identify them and deltete the corresponding .aspx file to remove them.
