  • I ran memtest overnight, and got zero errors. Nice to know my memory is healthy, but now I'm back to square one.

ASACPI.sys is a known BSOD maker in W7, update it from asus.com if it appears in your Device Manager as ATK0110 ACPI Utility. Otherwise uninstall Asus PCProbe and AISuite Utilities. If you cannot find anything related to it, enter Safe Mode and rename it to ASACPI.sys.old - it is probably in Windows\System32.

You could also check for an update to your x10 software at http://www.x10.com/support/support_soft1.htm

Run chkdsk /r from an Administrative CMD prompt.

Delete the paging file and reboot - then create a new one.

  • Strip the machine down to a single stick of memory and boot up into safe mode.

The remove drivers galore for video and chipset and reboot

    Let Windows find updated drivers
