Make a folder behave like a desktop to arrange contents RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a method in Vista to open a folder and arrange its files the same way they are arranged on a desktop, i.e. move them to a specific place in the 1280x1024 space and stay there? I found something like "virtual desktop" or "multiple desktops" but this is not the same. My purpose is just a visual organization of a container (folder). Having icons displayed in folder content is half of this (a standard Vista functionality), the other half is to be able to drag these icons to a specific 2D place (and this part I am missing).
