Port forwarding, DDNS and DMZ RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I had gone through my router whose model number is Binatone.

As DHCP is enabled in my router and my router gets different ip addresses. Using, I checked actual public IP. It also changes.

I found Port forwarding, DDNS and DMZ in my router.

To understand all I read some articles. However, I am not very much clear that in which real scenarios I can use all (Port forwarding, DDNS and DMZ) or either of these services.

However, I tried to setup Port forwarding and DDNS.

While setting up DDNS, following details are required.

    • Service -- ??
    • Service Port -- ??
    • Host name -- ??
    • Domain -- ??
    • Interface
    • Username
    • Password

Under Service, one of the services is I signed up

And I added a domain and sub-domain. I got a subdomain, with an IP address a.b.c.d.

    • Please guide me, what details are required for “??” ?
    • Where do I need to use, and a.b.c.d?
    • What is the role of Username and Password here?

While setting up Port-forwarding, following details are required.

    • Name
    • Internal IP --??
    • Internal Port --??
    • Protocol
    • Remote IP --??
    • External Port --??
    • Interface

Please guide me, what details are required for “??” ?

And under Advanced NAT, there is an option enable DMZ, with DMZ IP Address and Interface.

    • Under what scenario, I need to enable DMZ?
    • What would be its IP and Interface?

Kindly help me for resolving all above issues.

    With Regards
