Looking for clarification on UAG publishing for Exchange RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a client that is looking to publish OWA and Outlook anywhere, but also want to create a VPN solution using microsoft technologies (PPTP or SSTP). Now i have a decent amount of experience with ISA server up to 2006, but haven't really got up to speed on the differences between TMG and UAG - looking at various Microsoft sources I assume that the preferred option would be to use UAG in this scenario?

However, on reading through the notes for UAG (at this page), it makes the statement: "Forefront UAG does not support certificates with four-level domain names; for example, mail.exchange.contoso.com." which worries me, as in the UK four level names are common (as in mail.company.co.uk), so does this mean UAG is a no-go here?

Furthermore, why does this limitation exist?
