Does the CSS filter: "alpha(opacity=65);" (with quotes) work in IE8 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the default bootstrap.css I got from Visual Studio, I have the following CSS:

    filter: alpha(opacity=65);

    That is an IE8 extension, and I have to accept that the CSS does not validate.

    However, I also get a parsing error from the validator, that is worrying me. I can get rid of the parsing error by inserting quotes in the code, like this:

    filter: "alpha(opacity=65)";
    My question then is: will this style still work in IE8 ?
