Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2007 - User unable to send as another user. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have exchange 2007 configured with a user who has permission to send as another user in the way outlined below.

User@XYZ.com (XYZ is the primary SMTP) is trying to send as User@ABC.com (where ABC.com is a seperate user mailbox) they have send as, send on behalf of permissions and full access permissions.

When they go to send as this other user by changing the from address to User@ABC.com the emails bounce back with a failure message.

You are not allowed to send this message because you are trying to send on behalf of another sender without permission to do so. Please verify that you are sending on behalf of the correct sender, or ask your system administrator to help you get the required permission.

If the user Replies to an email in the User@ABC.com folder and the from address is left as the generated one, the emails send through perfectly fine.

Could this be related to the OAB in anyway as it appears that it has not been updating?
