Event ID 20287 error is repeated many times and record in events. RRS feed

  • Question

  • A user's company restrict all clients on network. Their DHCP Server is using reserved IP address for all clients. They input all computer's MAC address and assign IP address on DHCP Server - Reservations. So it won't has available IP there.

Recently, they find that there are many repeated events record in MS-Windows-DHCP-Server/Admin as below.  Almost repeated record here for every several second

Answers

  • Hi,

Does  MAC address of GMDC02.USSD.LOCAL  input on DHCP Server – Reservations

If it doesn’t input on DHCP Server, the Event 20287 is normal.

If it input on DHCP Server, please check loopback(ping 127.0.0.1) and restart DHCP service in GMDC02.USSD.LOCAL

Event 20287 may be caused by GMDC02.USSD.LOCAL sending request packet in short interval time.

You can use Network Monitor to check DHCPrequest packets.
