Microsoft authenticator app does not work on cellular data RRS feed

  • Question

  • Microsoft authenticator app does not work on cellular data
My Microsoft authenticator app does not work on cellular data on IOS iPhone 7. Instead of getting the pop up on the app to approve, it says,
"error communicating with the server: the internet connection appears to be offline"

But all my other apps are working on cellular data.

When my phone is on wifi it works, This happened with my old phone as well. I was on virgin mobile before, but now I am on sprint and same issue. I know they are the same network. Is sprint the issue?

    Any ideas?

This has been going on for a long time (it never worked) and no one else has this issue, but I am not sure if anyone else is on spring and an iPhone.

  • So I resolved the issue. Apparently in IOS 12

IOS-> settings -> cellular data... You can turn off cellular data on an app by app bases. I never new this was there.

I was not sure how it got turned off for the app. I wonder if I did it when I installed it thinking it was asking about notifications.
