AutoHeal-Is Auto-reRun enabled by default for DPM 2012 SP1? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is the Auto-Heal feature "Auto-rerun" enabled automatically by default for DPM 2012 SP1?

    An auto-heal blog states (http://blogs.technet.com/b/dpm/archive/2011/06/06/how-to-use-and-troubleshoot-the-auto-heal-features-in-dpm-2010.aspx) that there must be settings in the registry for this feature to run such as:

    AutoRerunNumberOfAttempts, AutoRerunDelay, however my servers do not have these settings in the registry yet the DPMAccessManager0.errlog indicates some rerun activity is taking place as seen here:

  • Hi,

    As per the blog, Yes the feature is enabled by default with the following restriction.

    <SNIP>
    Auto-rerun
    Auto-rerun is an enhancement in DPM 2010 that will automatically rerun jobs that fail.

    Key Auto-rerun points
    1.) Delay for Auto-rerun is 1 hour by default.
    2.) Auto-rerun will not be attempted if another job is scheduled to run within 4 hours or for any Adhoc jobs.
    3.) The default number of retries is 1. Note that this can be changed via registry.
