Removing The Dots RRS feed

  • Question

  • Firstly what is the definition of the dots before bar?
Is it after Actual Start but with 0 Work?
Not sure how to remove the dots, A definition will help
Actual Start is 15-2-13, Actual Finish is 18-2-13, Actual Duration is 1 day and Actual Work is 8 Hours.
and the bar looks like ....[  ] (Auto Scheduled off coarse!)
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi Mark,

It sounds as though someone has customized the field and applied a format to the entry.  Click the entry (or select the column), click the dialog launcher (see first picture below) and deselect Strikethrough (see second picture below).

  • Hello,

The dots preceding the bar are an indication that there is a split in the task.  Take a look at the task in the Task Usage view.  My guess is that you have a fixed duration task with an Actual start date that before the first actual work recorded.  Edit the Actual start and Actual finish dates to match where the work is recorded and the leading split should disappear.

    I hope this helps.

  • Thanks Julie,
I am currently adjusting the actuals so there are no dots :)
In the task usage view there is a line crossing out the date and time,
Do you know what this means?
