System Restore: Can I Create a Desktop Icon for it? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello.

I'd like to know if there is a way to create a desktop icon that will bring up the System Restore screen.

If it is possible, what is the procedure?

    Thank you.

  • Right click on a blank area of your desktop and mouse over “New” in the box that appears, click shortcut. Another box appears asking you to type the location of the item enter in the full path:

Enter the path “C:\windows\system32\rstrui.exe” and click next. It now asks you to type a name for this shortcut. Lets say System Restore Click next, and a system Restore icon appears on your desktop.

Have not tried this one my self, so i hope it works for you.
