Error during deployment: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware" RRS feed

  • windows install fails after sysprep.  the following is an excerpt from the Setupact.log which shows an error.  concerning to me is what appears to be that the Admin account gets disabled and then CryptoSysPrep returns access denied (0x5).  I'm looking for solutions to getting past this error.

  • Not sure about the error, but it is normal for the Administrator account to be disabled.

  • gotcha.  so I created another admin account.  ran sysprep from that account.  specified that account in the unattended.xml file to use for autologon.  however, I'm getting the same err and setup halts.

    If the system is domain environment, try to remove the machine from the domain and allow sysprep to proceed.
