Removing a buggy old driver. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working on a usb device driver for win 10 LTSC 2019 x64.
and sometimes it causes error in driver installation(startdevice pnp message processing). because of some bug
BSOD is generated, then reboot, I modified the USB driver and tried to install the driver at the device manager.
However, the old driver is reloaded and BSOD occurs again.

I have done the following to solve this problem. but this problem was not solved, and I had to reinstall the win10 os.  :(

    1. Attempt to delete the old driver from Device Manager.

       Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
       Start devmgmt.msc

-- > Old devices are not visible on hidden devices

    2. Attempt to delete the oem driver using devcon.exe
devcon dp_enum    --> check installed oem drivers.
devcon dp_delete  oemxx.inf --> remove installed oem driver

    3. Delete registry key.

Please let me know if there is another way to solve this problem.
