SCCM 2012 SP1 setup : issues with SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello there

I have an issue with sccm2012 SP1 install, at database step

The remote SQL database is a SQL2008 R2 SP2 database (10.50.4000.0 (X64), but I get an error message saying that I must upgrade SQL server before installing configuration manager.

Here is the contents of the ConfigMgrSetupFile

    Thank you for any help

  • The issue looks to be a permissions issue; i.e., it can't even connect to the SQL Server to get the version. Is the account you are using a local admin on the system hosting the SQL Instance and a sysadmin in that SQL instance?

  • I have the same issue upgrading from SCCM2012 Sp1 to R2..

WARNING: failed to retrieve port number SQL instance

but before this error I see :-

WARNING: Failed to initialize COM to get SDK Providers. It might already be initialized. return code: 80010106.

Did you ever get this resolved?

    Best
