Update Custom Fields for Multiple Projects RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Project Server 2010, is there a way to update custom fields for multiple projects from a single view or Excel import (list of projects with their custom field and the ability to type update and publish from the list for all projects)?  For example, PM's would like to update a custom field called “executive status” for all their projects with one interface rather than having to select each individual project and do this from the PDP, Save, Close, and Check-In.

  • Hi Tom,

Project Server 2013 proposes really nice free (and none free) apps to do exactly what you need.

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of such feature proposed for Project Server 2010, meaning "Excel-like" view to multi update custom fields without checking out all projects one by one.

That being said, the PS2010 solution starters proposes a bulk edit tool that you might have a look at:

    Hope this helps,
