disable exchange ecp / eac admin - access https://mail.contoso.com/ecp RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

is there a easy way to disable access outside the local network to https://mail.contoso.com/ecp ?  (OWA is disabled in mailbox user settings of whole company due to security)

EAS is activated and needed for iPhones.

I saw some manuals about creating second folder in IIS, creating second Network IP Adress etc..

There is no "new" easy new Way right?  Disabling it also from internal Network would be OK, we need it very seldom.

    thx, best regards

  • Hello,

I asked Watchguard whether there geo-location-filter-rule-policy can restrict 443 port access by country. (reply not yet, only in beta)

Do you think there is a way to block ECP/EAC via Watchguard Policy? (allow in coming 443 only for https:// Page XXY?)

  • Hi,

"I saw some manuals about creating second folder in IIS, creating second Network IP Adress etc.."

That is a good way, we could get a step-by-step in another thread: Disable OWA for External Site.

Another option is to use the IIS IP Address Restrictions feature on ECP virtual directory:

IPv4 Address and Domain Restrictions feature in IIS 7.0

    Hope it helps.

I think you may wait for the response from the Watchguard since it isn't a good choice to ask a Watchguard question in an Exchange sever forum.
