9926: How to prevent Windows Update to install a specific driver automatically ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Windows 8.1 you can hide a specific update to avoid installation.

In Windows 10 9926 the new NVIDIA driver from 05.02.2015 version 9.18.13.4965 is horrible and Windows 10 stop working every day.

If I roll back the driver, Windows update automatically reinstall the new version again!

How to avoid the installation of this specific drivers update and allow the automatic update of all others Windows Updates like in Windows 8.1 ?

You'll need to set the following two registry values to zero. You'll then
be able to access Windows Update via Control Panel and hide the updates you
    don't want.

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX]
    "IsConvergedUpdateStackEnabled"
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings]
    "UxOption"

BTW - this forum, as per its name, is only for questions about Windows 10
Server. I answered your question as the setting applies to Windows 10
Server (at least it will apply when a newer build is released). In the
future, if you're asking about client OS issues, please use the correct
    forum.
