DPM 2010 - Backup System State to Tape Failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a remote server running Windows2008 R2 with DPM 2010 setup to backup itself only (no clients) to an IBM external tape drive. The protection jobs for the data drive and for DPM itself run with no errors and Recovery points are available for restore, but the Backup to tape of the System State show as failed. If I check the Recovery tab, only one recovery point from Aril 03 shows. I was told that I was missing the Windows Backup Service, but even after installing WBS and rebooting the System State still shows as failed. If I check the Monitoring tab and view all failed jobs though, none appear as failed. What is wrong, and how do I fix it ?

  • Hi

Modify the protection group, uncheck the system state of the server and check it again, run through the wizard and run a CC. If this doesn't work , verify the system event logs on the server and post the info in this thread.

  • No clue here. Suddenly it started working on it's own again.
