"switch user"; most "hidden" RRS feed

  • Question

  • In a recent Vista Ultimate installation, there is one primary user account, with password, that shows on welcome.

Unlike my other, similar installation, also with several hidden users, there is no "switch user" button displayed.

It is in a workgroup, but so is the other.

The accounts were created in advanced user properties and made admins, then in "special accounts" registry key (0), made not to show on welcome.  I have not yet activated the true "Adminstrator" account.

I would like the principal user to have his "user picture" displayed, and not those of other users; but, I would like as admin to be able to enter a different user name (& pw) to login.

The other user account works to connect and authenticate accross LAN to share files, etc.; just does not show up a possibility for initial logon.

    Any suggestions, please?  Thanks!

Oh, I have tried both require password, and not.  For this user, it would be better not to require Ctrl-Alt-Delete, but that was not necessary on other PC -- I do not understand the effective difference.

I saw a registry hack to: not show last logged-on user.  However, apparently no picture displayed, about which he has a fetish and would like shown on boot + login.  Thx.
