Duplicate Outlook folders after reimaging from XP to Win7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have had multiple cases here that when a user is reimaged from XP to Win7 they end up with duplicate folders in Outlook.  These are the Calendar, Tasks, Notes, etc.  So far, not the inbox.  The users are unable to delete the duplicate folders.  Aside from PFDAVAdmin is there anyway to fix this problem?

We have tried rebuilding the profile and Outlook command line switches - cleanviews, resetfolders

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

First please verify if duplicated folder can be found in OWA.

Also you can check with MFCmapi.exe.

If we cannot find duplicated folders from OWA or MFCmapi, then I think that could be outlook related issue. You can try to post the issue in outlook forum to get better help.

Base on reseach, you can try to follow the steps in article below to solve the problem.

  • The folders show as duplicates in OWA and MFCMapi as well.

  • Outlook /ResetFolders will fix the true special folders, but the duplicates will remain.  You must manually move the items from them to the true special folders and then delete them manually.
