Update SCCM 2012 R2 Console RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Our SCCM 2012 R2 site was installed in july 2015 and it has never been updated (Version 5.0.7958.1000).

Nowadays we need to use new features of the system and we need to update the SCCM console. We tried to follow the guide of this site:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/servers/manage/install-in-console-updates

But our GUI does not include the options mentioned in the guide (the guide says that the option "Check for updates" should be in "Cloud services").

How can we update the SCCM console?

    Thanks

    Ignacio

  • That document is for ConfigMgr/SCCM Current Branch and not the version of ConfigMgr that you are running.

Do you want to update the console or the site?

I'm assuming you mean the site. If so, then you can perform an in-place upgrade to ConfigMgr CB using the media from Microsoft (assuming that you are licensed for it).

Alternatively, you can upgrade to ConfigMgr 2012 R2 SP1 CU5 (which is still an old version but is newer than what you have) using the freely available downloads from Microsoft.
