pop3 connector getting emails multiple times from certain customers sbs2011 exchange 2010

    Question

  • hey! some of our users get emais from certain customers multiple times.

it looks like the mailbox will not directly deletet after the build in pop3 connector fetched the mails from our mail provider. (i dont know wyh??!! )

somehow the mails stays some hours in the mailbox and some of them are fetched multiple times. every 5min. (5min is the timer of the pop3 connector) the issue is only resolved if the admin deletes the mailbox manually from the mail provider.

    need help!

  • There is no built-in POP connector in Exchange Server.  You're asking about a component that ships with Small Business Server. Therefore, I am moving your post to the SBS Forum.

POP3 is a single mailbox client mail retrieval protocol, not a mail transport protocol.  Any attempt to use it as a mail transport protocol is a great big kludge.  Exchange is designed to connect to the Internet using SMTP.

  • Hi,

SBS POP3 Connector is used to retrieve e-mail from external POP3 mailboxes and deliver it to the appropriate Exchange Server users.

Please check the Scheduling configuration on POP3 Connector Propertied, adjust the interval setting. Detail steps you may reference below link:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc546101(v=ws.11).aspx

If the problem persists, please check to see if suggestions mentioned in “Repair the POP3 connector” will be helpful:
