    I have noticed that thumbnails in Word 2013 are saved in emf format.  Thumbnails in Word 2007 are saved in wmf format.  Is there any way to configure Word 2013 to save in the wmf format as our file sizes are huge now compared to 2007 when we have an image on the first page?

    I'm afraid you're in the wrong set of forums for configuration questions. The MSDN forums target programming issues using Microsoft software. Configuration belongs in TechNet. I'm going to move your question to the TechNet forum, but...

    I don't think what you want to do is possible.
