Windows XP Remote Assistance pulic key problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use the remote assistance (as expert) between different PCs with Windows XP SP3 both, I can edit the msrcincident file (IP adresses) if it needs and everything works properly.I use this tool through SSH tunnel in case of all contacts and there is no problem.

Now I wanted to connect to a new PC with Windows XP SP3 (through SSH), we created the msrcincident file, I edited it properly, but if I try to use the file I get an error message:

"Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the public key provided in this connection request did not match".

Can anybody say to me what the problem can be?

  • Thank you, but the Windows where the file with public key has come from is a very new installation (one day old) so I do not believe it would be demaged.

And I do not understand what is compared with what in this case? In the file there is a public key, ok. But what will it be compared with? What is the secret key has to be matched with this pulic key?
