mmc.exe stopped working at startup - Network error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been having this odd problem with Server Manager (and any other application dependent on it) and it seems to be centralized around a network adapter that isn't installed anymore, and I can't find a way to remove it:

This problem started a while back when uninstalling VPN and removing the extra network adapter.

Answers

  • From cmd.exe session

    set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

then start Device Manager and View|Show Hidden Devices
