Skype for Business -E5 Plan RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear team,

We have customer currently with Avaya 8300S Server and g450 Media gateway,

The customer is currently using Lync Hybrid , they now are looking at enterprise voice capabilities , they have about 5000 users most of which are onCloud , Since we are in country were Microsoft does not provide any SIP based telephony , we are relaying completely on ,onprem Avaya to provide the Enterprise Voice,

We have been suggested by MS to go for E5 and then setup a cloud Azure Trunk to OnPrem Avaya,

But I know that this setup would not support Hunt Group etc,

Please suggest the best plan and pro and cons for going for SFB Hybrid or just E5 plan,

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hi Hasan Reza,

Since you mentioned that Microsoft does not provide any SIP based telephony in your country, then the only solution is to have a hybrid deployment that takes advantage of Cloud PBX.

Cloud PBX with on-premises PSTN connectivity – This option uses software on premises to connect your existing PSTN carrier, circuit, and contract with Office 365. Your users are homed in the cloud and are enabled for Cloud PBX, but their calling is processed through software on premises.

For more details about the Cloud PBX solutions, please check out the article below.

Cloud PBX is included in O365 E5 Plan. And also the Cloud PBX can be purchased standalone. If you are using Enterprise E1 or Enterprise E3 license for your users, you will need to purchase and assign a Skype for Business Cloud PBX add-on to the user.

In addition, it’s true that Users who are hosted in Skype for Business Online can’t place calls to response groups that are hosted in an on-premise deployment.

    Best regards,
