Change Windows 10 key MDT 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I already have a setup for my MDT but i need to change my Win 10 product key. I know that this was possible in 'unattend.xml' in Windows 7, but how can i do this for Windows 10?

    Grtz,

    Jochen

  • There are so many ways to do this... where should I start? Assuming we are talking about providing a product key during OSD, you could:

You could even go the extra mile and encode the product key using Base64 encoding: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/mniehaus/2012/06/27/encoding-sensitive-information-in-customsettings-ini-and-bootstrap-ini/

  • Yes, I just did this earlier this week after creating a new Windows 10 TS.  I edited the unattend.xml for my particular task sequence, searched for ProductKey, and when I found it in this section I changed the key.  Mine is not encrypted. This worked for me.
