WSUS Client doesn't report to status after changing the server to relicate mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've got a problem with a new WSUS Server, after changing it to replicate mode. After the change the one client, I'am testing the functionallity at the moment, doesn't report to the server. So I think there is a problem with the first server wich is the upstremserver. On the upstreamserver was once LUP installed, that was before my time.

    That is my environment

Upstream Server is a Server 2008 R2 with  WSUS 3.2.7600.226 (Local Contend store)

Downstream Server is a Server 2012 R2 with WSUS 6.3.96000.16384 (Clients set to download from microsoft)

  • But I couldn't figure it out how to solve it.

The solution in that thread is to find the Irish Language Pack Update for IE9 x64 on Windows 7 x64 and DECLINE it.

However, even that part is not that easy, because it's actually bundled into some other update package. But finding the bundle is a piece of cake:

Windows Internet Explorer 9 Language Pack for Windows 7 for x64-based systems

If you're not using the x64 instance of IE9, or if you've upgraded to IE10 or IE11, or you don't need language packs for IE9 x64, or maybe just on principle (those machines that might need language packs for IE9 x64 can still get this from Windows Update)..... I would suggest just DECLINING that update package.

  • Hi,

Have you patched the upstream server with KB2734608?

This update enables Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) 3.0 SP2 provide updates to computers that are running Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.

An update for Windows Server Update Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 is available (KB2734608)

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2734608

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi,

thanks vor your support. The downstreamserver is fully patched.  WSUS 3.2.7600.262, not WSUS 3.2.7600.226 as shown as above. I've found another thread, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/6818b28f-0cd0-4591-88f1-6b34c398ffdb/update-stuck-in-wsus?forum=winserverwsus , maybe thats may problem. But I couldn't figure it out how to solve it.
