  • Question

  • HI,

Just wondering what configurations/additional hardware could be used provide full failover from a primary site to a DR site for UAG if it is running a Portal with a few published web applicaitons and the SSL VPN?

    thanks,

  • The solution involves getting DNS resolution to push users to a UAG instance at the DR site.

Deploy a UAG instance at the DR site that mirrors your primary site setup. You can then use a global/site load balancer, or intelligent DNS provider or manually update low TTL DNS records to instigate the new DR site UAG instance.

The "poor mans" version can be achived by using unique URLs that include a "dr" or "backup" reference like webmaildr.company.com or maybe webmailbackup.companycom - not pretty, but could be a starting option...
