Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. Policy setting for disabling Javascript is not present! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Question: Where is the setting "Allows you to run scripts, like JavaScript" ?

I have read in other posts that javascript in Microsoft Edge can be turned off by using the Local Group Policy Editor and drilling down to

Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Microsoft Edge and modifying the setting "Allows you to run scripts, like JavaScript"

My problem is that there is no such setting.

These are the settings that are shown in policy editor

  • Hi Richard,

"I have read in other posts that javascript in Microsoft Edge can be turned off by using the Local Group Policy Editor and drilling down to " - they must have removed it from the admx... do you have links to the outdated documentation?

We can pass those on to MSFT to get updated.

    Regards.

  • Hi RichardAD,

According to official available policies for Microsoft Edge, the "Allows you to run scripts, like JavaScript" option has been removed. Also I have checked the Windows 10 1511 version and 1607 version, there are no options in the group policy.

Hope it will be helpful to you
