Uninstalling Exchange RRS feed

  • When im trying to uninstall exchange it tells me: This mailbox database contains one or more mailboxes, mailbox plans, archive mailboxes, public folder mailboxes or arbitration mailboxes, Audit mailboxes. However when i run Get-Mailbox -Database <Database ID>.  Its blank. 

    How can i delete exchnge completely..

    For your question, please run below command to double check:
    Get-Mailbox -Database "Databasename" -Archive
    Get-Mailbox -Database "Databasename" -Arbitration
    Get-Mailbox -Database "Databasename" -PublicFolder
    Get-Mailbox -Database "Databasename" -Monitoring
    Get-Mailbox -Database "Databasename" -Auditlog

    Moreover, run:
    Get-Mailbox | where {$_.ArchiveDatabase -eq "<databaseName>"}

    If it return any results, please move mailbox to other database before delete it.

    This message is self-explaining. You have to remove or migrate all system mailboxes, public folder mailboxes and mailbox plans. Make sure that all system mailboxes are removed:

    Get-Mailbox -Server <server name> -Arbitration

    Get-Mailbox -Server <server name> -PublicFolder

  • When i do those commands nothing shows up because i have already disabled or removed them..

    But when i try to uninstall exchange it still says i have mailboxes.

  • This issue occurs because Exchange Server 2016 introduces an AuditLog mailbox. This mailbox may be still present and blocking removal of the database, get in detailed here to resolve this issue: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/kb/3093175

    Run through the following commands:

    get-mailbox -database "DatabaseName"
    get-mailbox -database "Databasename" -archive
    get-mailbox -database "Databasename" -arbitration
    get-mailbox -database "Databasename" -publicfolder
    get-mailbox -database "Databasename" -monitoring
