SCCM remote control just connects to the device name. If DNS isn't returning the right address, it is a DNS problem. If the device is truly connected to both wired and wireless networks, remote control can still work assuming you have network/firewall
opened for both connections.

The green/red on/off icon is determined based on whether or not the device is connecting to the Management Point (typically over port 10123), not the other direction. As long as the device has a valid network address and can communicate with the management
point, this should work.
Are you sure all the firewall ports are opened in the appropriate directions on all the networks your clients are connected to?
