Manage automatic updates - conditionally ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

We have the monthly auto matic patch installation that is scheduled to run middle of the night and followed by a reboot. This works fine. But developers and users are complaining the loosing of data on the nigths and times servers are rebooted. It was found that some back ground windows services are in the middle of processing files and these are not transactional, hence when the servers are rebooted they loose some data.

So, is there a way to avoid this kind of issue, can it do-able that automatic updates be conditional, say, it can call a servie or power shell script and follow based on the result to do auto matic updates and reboots ?

(I'm assuming this is the right forum for my question.)

    Thanks

    Kishore

  • The automatic updates will carry on without interruption . You can postpone or prepone your action according the processes that are running on that particular night or as per the results that you have.
