IE 11 and Export to Excel (August 2015 CU already in place) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello.

I upgraded my SharePoint/Project Server 2010 farm to SP2 with the August 2015 CU on Saturday. I know. Don't tell me how old SP2 is...

In testing this deployment I've checked that the issue that was introduced with the roll-out of IE10 whereby the Export To Excel button in the PWA ribbon for Project and Resource Centre views opened an empty Excel sheet.
I saw the issue fixed by upgrading the other supporting environments but this PRODUCTION upgrade hasn't fixed the issue and all Project Server users are still getting the blank Excel sheet after exporting.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

I've previously tried the registry hack to add the 'useURLx' value to the path below but it caused other issues with Excel (I can't remember exactly what those issues were but...

    • Go the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\excel.exe
    • Here, you’ll see a string value named “useURL”
    • Rename this value to something else.  For example “useURLx”

Any thoughts or ideas where I should look next?
