Workgroup servers are not reported in SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Team,

I am trying to add workgroup servers into SCCM 2012 R2 , however the client is not reported in SCCM console.

Though client installation was successful using the following command from local client folder.

ccmsetup.exe SMSSITECODE=<site code of primary site server> SMSMP=<FQDN of SCCM> DNSSUFFIX=<dns suffix of relevant domain> FSP = <FQDN of SCCM because FSP incoroported into primary sited server> /noservice

After installed the SCCM client, I am able to see configuration manager properties in control panel.

While clicking Find Site option , i am getting the following error.

" Configuration Manager did not find a site to manage this client".

DNS is reachable from workgroup server and SRV records are manually created as explained by microsoft.

When I am deep dive in to locationservices.log file from client machine , would able to capture the following error.

"Failed to send site information location request message to <SCCM FQDN>"

"LSiSiteCompatible" : failed to get site version from all directories.

your timing help is more appreciable.

    Thanks

  • What happens if you enter a sitecode manually (not using 'find site')?

  • Can you post the whole relevant snippet from the locationservice.log file? Picking out individual lines is useless for troubleshooting.

  • Hi,

Please check if there is problem related to communications between the client and management points via CcmMessaging.log. Please also check ClientLocation.log.
