Outgoing email service in the sharepoint farm RRS feed

    In configuring the Outgoing Email for SP 2019 farm - we have an external SMTP relay that has to be allowed through the firewall.  There is no specific service I see on the SharePoint servers under SharePoint services in central admin.  I'm wondering - is the Outgoing email job handled by all SharePoint servers in the farm?  Do we need to allow all the SP servers access to the SMTP relay server?

    It's not a job, it is just code that sends mail immediately when mail needs to be sent. All servers in the farm are eligible to send mail.

    It's not a job, it is just code that sends mail immediately when mail needs to be sent. All servers in the farm are eligible to send mail.

    Thank you, Trevor.  I figured all servers would be eligible.  The reason I thought it might be a job is that I do see a job in the job definitions for Outgoing-Email. 

    So, this is something different?
