Oracle DB in sharepoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys!

I Have a quick question - Is it possible to integrate an Oracle database to Sharepoint 2010 using BCS out of the box, or does this require the creation of a coustum WebService? my hope is to accomplish this with as little use of code as possible.

    Thanks in Advance

  • It is possible to integrate SharePoint 2010 using BCS, but it will require some coding on your part or a third-party application to do with work for you (with untested levels of success).

To integrate oracle with BCS, following this guidance from microsoft that provides an XML example:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff464424.aspx

If you are hoping for an "easier" solution, requiring less burden for coding, you may want to look at something like BCS Meta Man:
