Task Scheduler "run whether user is logged on or not"

  • I've setup a task schedule to download files from a remote FTP site. On the task, if I select "run when user is logged on" the task runs successfully and the files get downloaded from the remote FTP site to a mapped unc share: \\Server\Share

I need the task to "run whether user is logged on or not". When I enable "run whether use is logged on or not", the task displays that the operation completed successfully 0x0. However, the files on the remote FTP doesn't get downloaded to the mapped share. There is no errors, not sure where to troubleshoot.

  • Have you specified a privileged user or service account to execute the scheduled task. You can specify who within the task. This should provide some guidance. Best use a service account created in AD, with a complex password and set to never expire.

  • Yes, a privileged user has been specified.
