Microsoft USB Digital Media Keyboard (IntelliType Pro) and Excel 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using the digital media keyboard.
In Excel 2003 however the function keys  (F1-F10) on the keyboard don't have their "normal" excelfunctions.

In Excel you can type F4 key on a cell reference on a formula
eg : if the formula is =G32 * 5, then when you select G32 and press F4 the value toggles form $G$32 -> G$32 -> $G32 which locks the value when you drag replicate it on other cells. This is a exteamly useful functionality when you work on tables.

This is no longer working with this keyboard.

How can I get this locking functionality back again?

  • Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum.

Are these keys from F1-F10 working normally out of Excel 2003 program? If so, it is the specific issue, the cause is related to Excel configuration. I recommend that you post this question in Microsoft Office Excel Solution Center or contact Office Online for help.

Otherwise, if function keys aren't working on other applications, please take the following steps.

    1.   Press Fn key to see if these keys work. (Note: you can try to press combination keys such as Alt + F4 to close a window).

    2.   Plug in another available keyboard to see if it works normally.

    3.   Contact hardware manufacturer for support.

    Hope this helps. Thanks.
